Area Wide Protective Is Your Safety Partner.

Safety Certified

AWP teams are comprised of highly qualified protectors. The safety training and equipment used by our teams meets or exceed all requirements and regulations set by government and industry authorities.

All AWP protectors complete over 40 hours of industry-leading training. Every AWP protector is American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) certified, is required to pass courses in First Aid & CPR, and versed in compliant work zone set up.

All AWP managers hold ATSSA and state-specific supervisor training credentials.

Project Managers provide additional oversight to work zone setups ensuring safety, compliance, and providing coaching to crews and customers.

Safety Focused

At AWP, every team member is looking out for the well-being of each other, our customers, and the communities we protect. The AWP team supports a collective goal by agreeing to think, practice and support safety every day in everything that we do.

To support this, each AWP facility has a group of team members who volunteer as a Safety Committee and take an active role in improving the safety of their team. The Safety Committee organizes monthly mandatory meetings for all team members to attend and participate in.

Safety is a focus at every level of our organization, and AWP is committed to continuous improvement of our Safety Programs.

Safety On Site

As part of the company’s Commitment to Safety, AWP protects its clients with significant liability coverage on every project.

In addition, every member of our team is accountable for ensuring the execution of a safe project for our customers. Local facility managers are directly responsible for local operations, personnel, and the quality of project delivery; and AWP crews continuously interact with customer crews to ensure needs are met and people are safe.

To ensure we maintain the level of safety we expect across all projects, our facility managers conduct unannounced end to end job site inspections. A critical eye is used to ensure every crew and every work zone is safe and compliant, and to identify any opportunities for improvement. If your project is selected, we also provide you with transparent reporting of all inspection results.

As a company, and as a team, AWP is dedicated to safety in everything we do.
